Follow the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me blog site progress. A snapshot of the activity of the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me blog site from its first go-live date. The dip after the first two weeks was caused by a site-wide redesign and subsequent restart to accommodate a change of theme and a rationalisation of the WordPress plug-ins. The recorded drop in usage could have been caused by the inadvertent disabling of the WP Global Site Tag plug-in. This plug-in was reinstated once the error had been identified.

beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me – progress update 16th March 2020
You probably won’t be surprised but so far, most of the traffic to the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me blog site has been from me. I have been creating and updating pages, designing and redesigning the WordPress theme and posting layouts, and I have been experimenting. Interestingly, the graph shows visitors to the site that are clearly not me.
When I am writing this stuff, I use multiple browsers and multiple devices, so it’s not surprising that I appear to be multiple people. I use Chrome as the primary device, because of the Chrome Extensions, I use Safari for previews and editing on the Mac, and I use a Firefox instance that doesn’t know who I am so that I can see the fruits of my labours for real. I also access the site using an iPhone so that I can see mobile activity too.
The city analysis shows the location of the visitors to the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me blog site. Whilst the numbers are tiny, the numbers do indicate that there is activity going on that isn’t me! I think there are two points to note here:
- I registered a Twitter account (@BloogerMe) and this accounted for a couple of hits, so even with tiny numbers, we can already see the potential impact of social media – interesting!
- The dip at the end of the graph (13th March) was due mainly to me deactivating the WP Global Site Tag plug-in. It’s now been re-activated … and the “blip” has moved to the 12th March. I don’t think it’s important but it’s something to be aware of when playing with plug-ins.
There isn’t much else to report. The site is operational, some of the marketing tools have been implemented and there is content ready to go. I did publish some pages to check the operation of the site. I have since set everything to “draft” in order to operate in the spirit of setting up a blog from scratch since it isn’t possible to set up a blog from scratch and show the set up in real-time.
