Welcome
The first thing that I have to say is welcome to the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me blog site. Here you will find stuff that is mainly for people who have not blogged before but who would like to have a go at blogging. I am one of those people who has not blogged before, and one who thought I might like to have a go. I have spent most of my working life pulling together complex IT systems from “back of a fag packet” ideas, so I know that stuff like this takes time. At the moment, I have to say that I am feeling a little bit inadequate. I am looking out across an ocean of new information and I have no clue as to how I should be steering my passage. I have trawled the internet for blogging advice, I have read countless articles about setting up a blog host and I have seen endless YouTube videos presented by 12-year old millionaires telling me how easy it is. They always seem to want to demonstrate how to set up a working and profitable site in ten minutes.
Enough is enough!
It’s clear that there is a monster amount of information out there in Internet land. I was reading one beginner’s guide to blogging and setting up a blog host that included nearly 300 separate posts. And … if you look just past the beginner’s advice, there are around 2000 pages to go at! This is a beginner’s resource and this is not unusual. They might say it’s simple, but setting up a blog is complex and the more that I look, the more that I see that I need to look some more.
What would be useful would be a simple step-by-step guide. I think I may have found a niche …
How do I build a Blog?
It’s 2020 and it’s now easier than ever to start a blog, apparently. You can read how a complete beginner can set up a blog in half an hour, and you can watch how easy it is to customise a blog site in a couple of hours. You can have a go and then spend the next three weeks wondering why it’s taken you three weeks to complete what was meant to be an afternoon’s work. I am going to show you how it’s really done by doing it myself and explaining what I am doing and why I am doing it, every step of the way. Follow me on my journey and we can learn how to build a blog, together.
I have a plan!
I am going to build a blog site from scratch … and I am going to share the hard bits. What you see here is the blog site at the original time of writing this post – just before the first public launch – and I have already spent more than three weeks on it. What you see is the result of three weeks of effort!
I am then going to write some instructions and help one of my friends to build one, based on my experience of building this one and the instructions that I have written. I think it’s going to be an experience. Along the way, we will be sharing the experience and we will be providing the step-by-step guidance that can only be provided by someone doing this for the first time.
If you give me your email address, you will receive a breakdown of all the stuff you will need to do to make the blog happen, and an outline project plan showing when stuff needs to be done. You can also follow our progress … and learn from our mistakes!
You can read more under the “About” tab, once I have finished writing it. I would like to add a smiley face here but haven’t worked out how to do it … yet.

Build a blog from scratch
Together, we will be covering all aspects of blogging, from the initial brain flash to the clever stuff that you thought was magic – assuming, of course, that the clever stuff doesn’t prove too clever for us to crack. As we learn, we will be sharing the stuff that we are learning. I have many years of experience in building IT systems that, at the outset, I knew very little about; my friend has supported the marketing content for corporate blogs but doesn’t know how to build one or which buttons to press. I will be doing the research and the analysis and the planning and the initial building – she will be following the instructions and feeding back. Together we will answer the questions that don’t normally get answered, and if we don’t know the answers, we will go and find out.

ps – they’ll work once I have finished the connections. Tee hee – Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Affiliate Marketing and the use of Affiliate links are not as easy as one might think. I have removed the links for now and explain the reasoning in the Affiliate Marketing section.

Hi.
So … the fact that you have reached this page means that I have managed to do something right. Let me say right now that it wasn’t easy. This has, so far, been the result of about three week’s effort. In that time, I have managed to do some research, build a WordPress platform, put together a static front page and write around twelve thousand little bits of content. I am now thinking that with a few more words in the right places, I will be ready to start posting proper. Result!
I have been searching for possible blog subjects, I think they call them niches. I have also been researching and reading articles on how to blog, and I have been listening at length to the 12-year old millionaires on YouTube.
There was a lot of good stuff, but there wasn’t much in the way of knowledge based on real-life experiences. It’s all very well providing training that follows the “happy path”, but the reality is that reality doesn’t.
I am creating a resource for the people who want to be bloggers, and I am creating it in real-time, and I would like it to be a shared experience. It’s taken three weeks to get this far, and I have done it by myself. Now it’s time to open it up.
Let’s see what we can do together.

Join the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me community
I am writing an article on the beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.beginner.blooger.me strategy, which will be posted shortly. Briefly, the strategy is to write a blog about writing a blog … but, because I haven’t written a blog before, I need to create a blog before I can start writing about blogging. I am actually writing about writing the blog about writing a blog! Stick with it! What this means is that all the challenges and problems and gotchas that sit waiting for the blog novice are sitting, waiting for me. I will describe all the challenges and how they were resolved, and I have a stack of them, even after only three weeks.
Sign up below and you will receive a “work breakdown structure” document that lists everything that needs to be done (once I have done it), and an outline project plan that shows the tasks, how they relate to each other and when they need to be done. You will also receive regular reports and updates on the state of the projects, and the progress we have made.
There will also be opportunity for feedback.
